Vancelectric quickly responded to my initial inquiry and set up an appointment for an estimate. Vance arrived as scheduled and we discussed generator options. The job would be a bit complicated because of where the generator needed to be placed. A couple of days later, a representative from a gas company came by to assess my propane needs, so it seemed as if the project was moving forward. Two months passed with no word from Vancelectric. I sent an email to ask when I would get my estimate and Bob sent this reply, \u201cMy apologies, I will ask Vance about this today to hopefully get the final proposal sent out to you soon.\u201d That was two months ago, and I have heard nothing.

If you look up "exceeding expectations" in the Dictionary, there should be a picture of Vance and his team. I just had a 24kw Generac installed and every single person from Vance Electric was knowledgeable, punctual, articulate, kind, friendly, thoughtful, and polite. These days it is so hard to find a firm with one or two people like that but Vance (owner) as well as Bill, Albert, Taylor, Blake and everyone else who helped was just amazing. I could not be happier and can't recommend this team highly enough!!

I am happy to write this review for Vance Electric. Vance showed up as promised, was very professional and answered all of our questions. After purchasing our home in the fall, I have dealt with many contractors. I can say that Vance Electric, unlike others, will show up when promised.

Of the three estimates I solicited, Vancelectric was by far the most comprehensive and detailed. Vance's analysis of the right generator to meet our needs was excellent. The equipment arrived on time , the necessary permits and county inspection were accomplished as arranged by Vance, and the installation was seamless, Since last Spring, we have lost power three times. Hearing the immediate "hum" of the generator is most welcome! I would not only recommend, but encourage any prospective Generac owner to consider Vance Cowper and is team.

Vancelectric Generac dealership is very professional and experienced. Installation was problem free and the generator works like a charm. We've had two outages already and the generator kicked in nicely. The feeling of power security the generator provides is great. Owner Vance also helped in setting up the wi-fi connection so I can track generator performance via the Mobilink app. I highly recommend Generac generators and Vancelectric for installation and service.

Well, not much to say really. They canceled one appointment and then "Mr. Vance" didn't show up for the make-up appointment. Didn't even call to say they were running late, lost, etc... I think if this is indicative of their service overall, you should probably skip Vance Electric. Not sure why the good people at Generac promote this firm.

We just had the installation of a Generac 22kw Guardian generator completed by Vancelectric. We chose Vancelectric because of the volume of highly-favorable customer reviews on the Generac web site. Our experience with this purchase and installation was that there was a solid basis for all those 5-star reviews. Vance Cowper, the owner, came to our house and provided an assessment of which of Generac\u2019s generators would best meet our needs. Once we had selected the generator to be installed, Vance provided a detailed written estimate of the total cost, to include County inspection of the completed project, and we scheduled the installation. Vance and his team actually completed the delivery and installation of the generator ahead of schedule, and arranged County inspection for the day after installation was completed. I have to say, it was a pleasure working with Vance and his installation team. I found them all to be highly professional and accommodating of the needs of our particular installation, and everything was cleaned up upon completion of the work. I therefore have no hesitation in recommending Vancelectric and giving them a 5-star rating. Well deserved!

My five year old Generac 20 Kw standby generator needed non-emergency battery service, per my MobileLink alert notice.

They fixed our generator when 3 other technicians could not. I would strongly recommend you use this company. They were also friendly, timely and very capable.

Vancelectric recently completed the installation of our residential 22KW Generac generator. What a feel-good project from start to finish. I can\u2019t say enough good things about Vance (the owner) and his employees. They delivered exactly what was promised for a very competitive price and were all great to work with. When Vance came out to do the estimate, he carefully listened to my concerns, patiently answered my long list of questions and immediately provided a very fair, detailed estimate with costs broken out. I got several bids - Vancelectric was by far the best value and most professional. Vance was very creative in siting the generator and minimizing the visual impact of the necessary gas and electrical service. He and his employees were all friendly, courteous, worked very hard, cleaned up, kept me informed and delivered as expected. I plan to call them later this year for another electrical project.

I had gotten an installation quote from another company. They were going to sell me a 2016 generator model as part of a sales promotion. Luckily I got in touch with Vance and he was able to match the other company\u2019s price plus install a 2017 22 KW model with a much longer warranty. I really liked that I could deal directly with Vance. The very first thing I noticed was his passion for what he does and how he cares about his customers.

Vance is great as are his employees. They are friendly, neat and clean, and professional. They don't waste time, they come in and do their job-- working full days while they installed my home generator. They problem-solved on the spot when they ran into some unforeseen snags in the structure of my house. The final installation and the surrounding area were cleaned up and neat and tidy and blended in with the shrubs and house. And the mobilelink is a great feature. I highly, without reservation, recommend them.

If you need a back-up generator for your house, you definitely need to hire Vance (Vancelectric, LLC). Our 10-year old automatic standby 15 kW LP Generac Guardian Plus generator was fried by lightning striking a nearby tree in September 2015. With the death of our generator, our peace of mind also died. We live in the woods and are on well and septic systems. Without power, we lose not only electricity and the INTERNET, but also WATER. We have two 200 amp circuit panels and one contained all items powered by the old 15 kW generator (we did not power big energy items like 3 HVAC systems, washer & dryer, dish washer, ovens, etc.). We obtained 4 estimates for a replacement generator and it was a no-brainer to select Vance. With Vance, we weren\u2019t dealing with just a generator sales rep. Vance is not only a very knowledgeable generator guy and a pleasure to deal with, but also a full service electrician who uses only his own employees (no subs) and offers fare prices. Best yet, his electrician skills enabled him to advise us that we could power both our 200 amp circuit panels (entire house) with a larger 22 kW generator and the help of 4 Generac Smart Management Modules (SMMs) to load shed the emergency electrical heat on our 2 largest HVAC systems (we totally disabled them). Vance\u2019s installation of a new 22 kW air-cooled LP standby generator with aluminum enclosure, two 200 Amp SE rated transfer switches, and 2 surge protectors (Square D model SQD HEPD80) passed all county inspections with flying colors. Let the wind/storms/ice/snow come. We are ready!!!

Called three of the companies listed here (also the same three that were top-rated in local NoVA contractor ratings guides). The first two were friendly, but follow up was very poor. The first refused to provide me with a breakdown of costs for the estimate. The second was dismissive of my concerns for the extra demand on the natural gas supply, and only did a cursory glance at what was already in place.

The work was completed without any surprise, nor any disappointment.Proposal Stage- bid was competitive and the proposal was straightforward.Work Stage-Subcontractors' schedules were well coordinated. We spoke with our neighbor and from his references and their recommendation, we selected Vance and Vancelectric to install our 22kw Generac generator.

My wife and I were looking to have a 20 kW back up generator installed for our home. One of my friends had recommended Vancelectric. Vance was very professional, offered an excellent price and was very clear about the process. We had to have our main gas line and meter upgraded through Washington Gas before Vance and his team could completely install the generator which caused a significant delay (Vance had warned us that Washington Gas was quite slow when it came to completing these upgrades). Once the upgrade was out of the way Vance completed the job quickly and cleanly. My wife and I were thrilled when the generator turned on a few weeks ago when we lost power for about 2 hours. This dealer knows the product.There's no doubt about that. My problem is, when i contacted him he said he dosen't normally service the Maryland side but would for me. And then i contacted him numerous times and he never responded. He completely blew me off and I found that to be very unprofessional. And if he could do that, what else is he capable of doing? or not doing?

Vance just finished our generator installation and I would highly recommend him and his crew. They were prompt, courteous and professional and they obvioulsy installed the generator 100% correct - it was installed for just 6 days when we got our first power outage due to an ice storm. The generator automatically kicked in and powered our whole house for the entire 41 hours it took the electric company to get our power restored. We couldn't be more pleased with the generator and with Vance and his crew for the expert installation.

Generac is made in the USA and is expertly engineered. Vance owns the installation company and manages his crew expertly. We had a difficult install on a hilly property and all details were handled professionally and with a minimum of interruption.

I would highly recommend Vance Electric for your generator installation. He just finished my install and did a superb job and has all the support to get the job done correctly.

My power went out last night. I have a backup generator so I was covered. When Dominion Power fixed the problem, my generator would not turn off. I called Dominion to told me to call Milwaukee who told me to call Vance of Vancelectric. Here's the "above and beyond part. Vance gets there in about 20 minutes. He knows it is supposed to be a transfer switch. Thing is, Vance is a Generac man, my Generator is a Briggs and Stratton. He could have said, "Sorry, I'm a Generac guy," Instead he stays long enough and fixes my B&S until I can get the B&S folks here. My only regret is I don't have a Generac so Vance could be my "Generac man."

After researching generators, I got information and bids from four dealers. Vance was the only dealer who said he could install the size of generator that I wanted and it would give me all the power I needed. Our power went out shortly after the generator was installed and everything worked perfectly!

I was impressed with Vance when he first came out to do the estimate for the installation of a 20kW Guardian generator. After some haggling, we agreed on exactly how much, where and what to install. I paid half up front. After approximately 1 week to have the generator and switch received, Vance personally delivered the generator and switch. Within an hour, he had assembled a 2-wheeled dolly around the generator and single handedly rolled the ~500lb generator to the slab I had poured. His gas contractor was out the following week to extend my existing 2 psi NG line to the generator. Inspection of the gas was done the next day and the NG installer was out one day later to finish that part of the install. The following week the electrical subcontractor arrived at 7:30, installed the whole house switch, pulled utility power at 11:00, finished the electrical connections and reinstalled utility power by 13:00. Power was out only 2 hrs! Vance then came back that evening, installed the generator battery and some fuses in the switch and fired it up. We tested the generator under whole house load, including power cycling the A/C. He took the time to make sure that I knew how to operate and maintain the unit. The final inspection was the next day. Vance is one of the good guys! We had 2 outages this past week and the generator performed perfectly. Thanks Vance and Generac for a job well done.

I just had Vance install a 14kw generator and from start to finish he did a marvelous job. He is enjoyable to work with and really knows his business.I feel confident that the generator will perform perfectly as needed.I highly recommend him! Other contractors should take a lesson from Vance.

When Northern Virginia lost electrical power due to the storm in July of 2012, our generator that was professionally installed by Vance, kicked in and never stopped working for 4 full days while our power was out. Vance is the utmost professional starting from his initial consult, install process, and follow up immediately after and during our major power outage. His actions are to be commended and should be mimicked by others in his industry. We have recommended him to numerous neighbors and friends, and highly recommend his services to all those interested in purchasing a generator.

Vance installed our generator about 6 months ago. We recently used it during the storm in July 2012. He did a great job. He is friendly and very professional. I felt completely confident with his installation from start to finish. He even came out after the storm to check our unit. I recommended him to two other families on our street and he installed their unit also. I would definitely recommend him and have to our neighbors, family, and friends. I know he will be installing more units on our street.
