My home is in Moorpark, CA. I contracted for the installation of Solar Panels and the Generac PwrCell Battery Back-Up System at my home, with another contractor that I has done work for me for many years, although they were new to Generac\u2019s PwrCell. Nelson of Valencia Electrical and Solar Services had bid on the project as well. It was a very difficult decision for me to make, but I ultimately decided to go with the contractor that worked with me for over twenty (20) years. Thereafter, I spoke to Nelson advising him how difficult it was for me to make this decision, as I believed that he had the expertise needed to install Generac\u2019s PwrCell. The contractor I went with had recently been added as Generac Authorized PwrCell Installer.

Backup Generator

After five days of no power in the summer of 2020, we decided we needed a backup generator. Nelson Valencia showed us the difference between using a portable generator that you had to hook-up and start every time the emergency arose versus having a permanently installed generator that would supply all the power we would need within 30 seconds of a power black-out automatically. Their crew knew all that was needed to install the system professionally. All the conduits were run underground, up through the walls and through the attic to connect the generator to the electrical panel. They trained me to manually run the generator for a proper break-in of the engine. With proper care, we expect this generator to take care of our family through power outages for the next few decades. Nelson and his employees are very knowledgeable when it comes to electrical code requirements, so we are assured that the entire installation was safe and proper.

I recommend Valencia Electrical and Solar Services, an authorized Generac dealer, for all your electrical needs. During 2020 it became apparent I needed reliable power other than So. Cal. Edison. My wife had been on 24/7 oxygen therapy since 2016 and her condition was worsening. She used an electric oxygen concentrator, other electric medical devices and needed the air conditioning on all the time and we needed reliable back up power. In August of 2020 we experienced a 7-day power outage during a heat wave. We suffered through without the air conditioning and used a new oxygen tank every hour. I made the decision to have a stand-by Generac generator installed. I got estimates for a local electrician, one of the Big Box stores, and two authorized Generac dealers. I didn\u2019t like the idea of a Big Box store using sub-contractors for the job as well as requiring full payment for the entire installation even before work had started. One of the Generac dealers only installed the Generac and didn\u2019t install power panels. When Nelson Valencia spoke with me and understood my wife\u2019s unique medical needs, he was able to fill all of our generator needs. He agreed to provide a portable generator with a temporary transfer switch until the Generac was installed and ready to be wired up. This gave me and my wife much peace of mind during the project since we had multiple planned power outages during this time. He drew up the plans and submitted the permits to the city during the COVID which added another layer of difficulty. His crew did all the work, no sub-contractors, and followed all the required Covid PPE safety protocols. They did the trenching, plumbing, conduits, wiring, new power panel, new automatic transfer switch all during peak Covid restrictions. I also had Nelson do some minor electrical work in the garage at this time. His crew is very efficient, knowledgeable and professional. I am a retired Building Contractor of 50 yrs.I am impressed with this company. The owner, Nelson, returned every call quickly with the answers. I know that the prices of all his materials have increased 30 to 40 percent during the wait for the generator but he kept to the original contract price with no increases.His crew was clean and polite and the job site clean. I would recommend them to anyone.
