Switch Electric LLC

Switch Electric is Outstanding

I highly recommend Switch Electric Home Energy for generator repairs and service. It was an outstanding experience! I had several deep-seated issues with my generator (Generac QuietSource 36kw), which rendered it unusable. While other Generac dealers in the area had a long waiting list, although two months away, Switch Electric was able to book a specific appointment date for me and adhere to that timeline. The front-desk person was knowledgeable, polite, and trustworthy. My expectations were exceeded when I received email and txt reminders about my upcoming appointment a day prior. It was especially prudent given the fact that a significant amount of time has passed since scheduling. The technician Aaron was highly experienced and knowledgeable in his craft. Not only did he resolve the issue specific to the generator itself, but he also performed electrical repairs on the transfer switch. He knowledgeably answered all my subsequent questions. It was an absolutely wonderful experience all around. Thank you, Switch Electric!

Great team of professionals

I had Switch Electric install a generator system on my house. They came highly recommended. King tide had left my house and property in a flooded situation which they worked around and took care of everything. Very considerate crew and tidy. I highly recommend them.

Refused to consult

Generac invited me to ask "What product to purchase", then referred me to dealers for an answer. The dealer outright refused to help: "Unfortunately, per our policy we are not able to give a consultation to assist you with installation. This is due to liability and issues we have ran into in the past. You may be able to find a dealer who is comfortable assisting you with the installation but unfortunately I do not have anyone who is able to help."

Top-notch service

We used Switch Electric recently to install a Generac standby generator, along with a solar panel array on our house a few months earlier. The wait was a bit long for the generator we wanted due to supply chain issues, but they were very clear about this up front. I really enjoyed working with them figuring out what circuits to put on the generator and what size unit we needed. Very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. The install went off without a hitch. They did a great job coordinating the work needed for the solar panels and the future work for the generator so it was all seamless. They went through how to use the generator and got it all hooked up with the Generac app and my wi-fi. So far we've only used it in a real power outage a couple times but it works great. All the work was done very neatly and professionally both inside and out. About 8 months in, our generator had an automatic shutdown error. They detected the problem and called me within a day or two, and sent someone out in a couple weeks to look at it. Of course, by the time he looked at it, the problem wasn't occurring anymore, but he replaced an auxiliary switch that may have been causing the problem, under warranty. I would not hesitate to use Switch Electric for any future electrical work. They're one of my favorite contractors, for sure.
