Excellent onsite maintenance support

After 11 years of worry free service our 2008 Guardian 20KW UPS stopped working. Summerville was the only dealer in the area that also provide maintenance support. After calling them and discussing the symptoms they scheduled a visit by their technician. The technician found that the inline battery maintainer had failed, thus causing the new battery I had installed to fail which caused the Control Module not to function. While diagnosing the problem, the technician had installed a new controller, but upon finding the root cause and correcting that with a new battery and battery maintainer, reinstalled the old control module which worked fine. The technician, then performed a complete service (oil change, air filter, spark plugs, testing, etc.). Throughout this service call the technician kept me informed as to the findings, root cause and the corrections performed. I was so satisfied with the service that I requested that I be added to their calendar for yearly servicing of the system. Very Profession and I would highly recommend them to folks in my area that need an UPS system for their house or summer cabin.

2008 20KW Guardian Generated Stopped Working

Our 2008 Generac Guardian 20KW UPS had provided us excellent service until Oct 2019 when it stopped working. Summerville Electric, the only service providing dealer in our area was notifying of our situation. Within two weeks a technician arrived at our house to diagnose the problem and get our Guardian back up and running. The technician discovered that the battery maintainer had failed, thus allowing the battery to become fully discharged making it appear that the control module had failed. Although the technician had brought and installed a new control module, the root problem was determined and corrected, the old control module was reinstalled and proved to be still functional. He replaced the failed battery maintainer and at my request replaced the filed battery. He then proceeded to complete a full service call (oil change, spark plugs, air filter, testing) on the Guardian. The technician was very profession and kept me informed as to his findings and to the corrections that were made. I was so satisfied with the service provided that I asked the technician if they would continue maintaining the system for me. I am now son the calendar for a yearly service call in the fall during warmer weather. Yes, it was near freezing temperatures while the technician worked on our generator.
