Straits Heating & Cooling Inc.

Amazed and Delighted!

During the recent "historic" ice storm in Nothern Michigan our 14 year old Generac standby generator quit working on day nine of the electrical outage. I was unable to contact the dealer who installed and serviced the generator since their power and telephone service was also out. I called Straits Heating and Cooling and I was immediately impressed by Emily's professionalism and concern, She checked the location of their technicians (Who were on Mackinac Island at the time I called.) and was able to send a highly qualified Generac repairman to our home within a couple of hours in spite of the fact that there were tens of thousands of people without heat or electricity in the surrounding area. When Tony arrived he carefully checked every possible cause for the generator's failure and concluded that the main control module was the problem. It is a fairly expensive component and would probably have taken 7-10 days to arrive. Fortunately I had decided to order a slightly larger Generac generator about a week earlier and it was scheduled to arrive the next day, I called Straits Heating and Cooling while Tony was still at the house and asked how quickly we could schedule installation of the new generator. Emily said she would see what she could do and promised to call as soon as she had an answer. Within a couple of hours she was in touch and said they could do the install the day after the new Generac was delivered! That day Tony and Wade were at the house at 8:00 am pulling the old unit out and installing the new one. It was up and running within a couple of hours. Good, reliable service can be hard to find in Northern Michigan but not when you are dealing with Straits H&C! I have never dealt with a more professional, honest and reliable company. They didn't just go the "extra mile," They went an extra hundred miles and now they have another customer for life. I would never hesitate to recommend them to anyone who needs HVAC or Generac service!
