No Power / no service

I paid Rack to service my generator, and later I found the generator door lying on the ground. The service person advised that he could not load-test the generator but would send a technician to run the test. The following day, two techs showed up and attempted to test the generator; after several attempts, they advised that a senior tech would be needed to run the test. After they left, I observed that 50% of our power was off. I immediately called Rack, who advised that if I wanted a service tech to come back out, I would need to provide a credit card for billing. I contacted the company that installed the generator years ago, and they restored power by replacing the damaged transfer switch component. The whole event cost me over $1,000.

Generac does not work!

I purchased my 26K Generac Generator with a 1000lb propane tank from Rack a year ago. I paid them $26,000 cash for a system that has not worked. I asked about financing and they told me they didn't offer any. Now, I see financing in Generac ads all the time. Please know that every time there is a power outage, my system knocks out my air conditioners, and my air conditioning company has to come out to restore the power. Last time it took Rack eight days to send out a technician who said he did not know how to fix the system. I needed an electrician. This has happened four times and there is no resolution in sight. Imagine if this happened during a hurricane. I want my money returned, or I want the system fixed, which so far has not happened. Sending a technician who doesn't know what he is doing is absurd. They need to send an electrician who knows how this system operates. Or maybe Generac needs to send someone who understands what is wrong with my Generac system, and knows how to fix the problem. At this point, I do not know if the Generac equipment is faulty, or if it is an installation problem. I just know the system does NOT work.

Great Company! standby generator guru

Rob Smythe is a standby generator guru. He is a master electrician and, more importantly, a stand up person whose word is as good as gold. He is also a former electrical inspector for Boca Raton and really knows his Code. He and his electricians and LP tank and line people recently finished installing our standby generator in Pinecrest, Florida. Rob was always available during the process and immediately answered all questions. All the people that came to the site were courteous, professional and competent. With the Hurricane season acting up lately, it feels great to have the unit installed. Thanks again Bob.
