R.e.z. Electric, Corporation

Outstanding competence, professionalism and service!

I was very impressed with the service Rez Electric provided for the installation of a full-house backup generator. They responded very promptly to my inquiry that I placed through the Generac website after I found that they were listed as installer for Generac Generators in the Virginia Eastern Shore/Cape Charles area. The onsite consultation was very informative, with a great discussion of our power backup needs, different options regarding transfer switches, the optimal location of the generators, and the overall installation process, including obtaining permits, coordinating the connection of the generator to the propane tank with the local propane company, inspection and final delivery of the complete installation. The installation itself was very smooth, despite the added complexity related to having two separate 200 amps panels. The technicians were very competent and focused on ensuring that every detail of the installation was dealt with as planned and in the best possible way. The communication through each step of the installation was also excellent. Connection to the gas line and final inspection were coordinated by Rez Electric and were completed without any problem. I should add that during the initial visit, I mentioned to Rez that a condensation line of a water heater had frozen during a winter storm. Rez immediately suggested a solution, including the installation of a heating tape connected to a weather-protected GFI. I was very happy to have it installed. Based on my experience, I have no hesitation whatsoever in highly recommending Rez Electric for the installation of a power backup generator or other electrical work. The service that they provided was outstanding.

Conscientious and thorough

Our install was not an easy one - we don't have access to natural gas, so REZ worked with the local propane dealer to help us get a new tank buried in the backyard. We also have two electrical panels for our home, so we needed to have two separate panels for the generator as well. We had a concrete pad poured for the generator to sit on - much better for longevity. I'm not positive all these steps would have been as smooth with another contractor! REZ organized all the moving pieces, showed up at our home when promised and finished on time and on budget. They followed up with us to make sure everything was to our satisfaction, and also followed up after the first storm where we lost power, to ensure everything worked as it should! They also set up the weekly exercise schedule to make sure the generator will work when we need it, and also offers annual servicing to keep it in top shape! Great experience from beginning to end, and I'd recommend REZ to anyone who would like the peace of mind of a whole house generator!
