Truly Professional...!

I have been a customer of Phoenix Communication and Cabling for twenty some-odd years and although my experience with them was limited to servicing my business telephone systems and data networks, I was confident in their abilities. However, before contacting Phoenix Communications, I did search for a local Generac sales office when I discovered that they were an authorized dealer. Much to my surprise I did read a posting of an unsatisfied customer, but after speaking to the company’s owner, I realized that sometimes there are customers with unrealistic expectations. Acquiring a standby generator to protect your home is not something you would want anyone to rush through, and yes there are times when unforeseen or hidden issues will arise making it necessary for changes, such as installing a larger gas meter. Only your local gas company are experts in the delivery of your heating fuel! As far as I am concerned Phoenix Communications is the experts on stand-by generators! There are few occasions when I have taken the time to write a review, but based on my experience and after reading the “one” unhappy review, I could not let the opportunity pass by. I am very happy with the quality of service they have continued to provide me and I remain extremely confident in their abilities.

Great company to have working for us

This company did a great demo about the product and explain everything they were going to do for us. They were on time and neat and professional at what they did. They even did more then what they promised and did not charge me for all the additional work. I recommended them to our family and friends which purchased a few generators from Phoenix Communication and were very happy with them. Keep up the great work Phoenix team.

The owner of the company came out and gave us a great demo of how the system works. He is very educated on the product. They came out on there promise date and completed the work and very neat job. They trained us on how to use our generator and what to do to maintain it. We gave them our friends and family very hi recommendation and all of my brothers and uncles have order through them. Total Job Completion Time: 14 weeks, 3 days! Signed contract Aug. 8, 2016. Received final inspection approval on Nov. 17, 2016. Phoenix’s primary business is data and phone system equipment installation. My job was treated as a fill in job as the owner once mentioned that a Government job had priority over my install. Additionally, I repeatedly had to contact the owner to confirm when he would continue installation activity throughout the process. At the time of quotation, the owner intentionally did not reveal the need for a larger gas meter to accommodate the peak gas demand. That surprise surfaced during the city building department’s mechanical inspection failed to pass. The owner claimed he never experienced this issue before. The gas company installers indicated that this is the same story they hear from many homeowners. Generator sales personnel do not reveal the need for a larger gas meter issue at the time of quotation to prevent an additional $600-$800 cost item to be a deal breaker. During the quotation process, the owner did not reveal Generac’s recommendation for the cold weather kit based on the potential of sustained temperatures below 32 degrees F which are common in the northern suburbs of Detroit during the winter. 4 weeks into the install, I requested a cold weather kit be added to my order based on a recommendation from the mechanical contractor who owns a similar generator. Phoenix sent an invoice for payment with an immediate due date 1 month and 3 days before the completion of the installation and the city’s final inspection approval. I made several requests to have the cold weather kit installed as local overnight temps continued to fall. The owner insisted on delaying the installation of the cold weather kit until the original generator order was completed and paid for. In his words: “I'd like to settle up on the existing bill before I install the cold weather kit.” Meanwhile, overnight temps fell below 32 degrees three nights prior to my decision to purchase and install myself to protect my investment per Generac’s installation instructions.
