No longer does service!

I called my local Northern Tool and they do not service generators any longer. This needs to be removed from this website.

Remove from list

Dropped off my Generac generator for repair. Received a call today saying that they only work on their brand generators. Now I have to pick it up and take it to a shop that actually works on Generac generators.

This company does not service Generac Portable Generators in Omaha, NE.

Brought generator to be repaired due to gas leak

Dropped it off and they had it for over 3 weeks. They said it was fixed and now I started it up a month or so later and it started leaking gas again. Tech said he tightened some screws on the engine gasket - but obviously that wasn't the issue. Looking for a new place to service the generator. Was supposed to be under warranty but I had to pay up front and they never credited me the money due to a warranty claim.

Customer Service Terrible

The short large white lady at the register would not even check my General pressure washer. She said they only work on machines they sell. Very rude. Not customer friendly at all. I repaired it here 3 yrs ago. Take them off your list.

This maintenance dept is a rip off

I have a generac pressure washer that is only 2 months old. I choose to take it to Northern Tool for warranty work being as they are a large outfit. I didn't want my unit sitting outside in someones yard. Northern Tool requires you to pay up front to leave the unit just in case your issue is not covered under warranty. So I paid the fee and left the unit. I was told it would be 2 to 3 weeks before they could work on it. Ten minutes after leaving the store I got a call saying my unit had bad gas and this isn't covered under warranty. It would cost as much as half of what the unit cost to clean fuel system. I ask how do they know it was bad gas and the tech replied he had stuck his figure in it. I ask what about the knocking the motor was making and he replied I would have to pay to have fuel system fixed before he could checking any thing else out. He informed me that 90% of all small engines they work on have bad gas. So I am guessing they use this very expensive finger test a lot. Do not waist your money with Northern Tool.

Don't waste your time

Plain and simple, you bring your unit to them for repair, their response "We dont have the space" went to them twice, the second time they said were not taking any additional work. Didnt see any units waiting for service. From my perspective they don't service anything.

Waste of my time.

Brought almost new generator down for warranty repair. Less than 2 hours on the unit. Was told that they work on them all of the time. After a week the technician calls and says he is new and does not know how to work on these machines.....he tells me to just come pick it up. They only got 1 star because "no" star was not an option. Oh, did I mention I had to drive an hour one way to get to them. Totally wasted my time, resources, and fuel. They did say they would probably give me my 35.00 diagnosis fee back, what a stellar group.
