We had a generator installed 2 years ago. Midwest reached out to us when our generator had gone offline and helped us assess what needed done. They also do routine checks on the generator to ensure longtime use. They are very professional and always give us notice of their arrival ahead of time. Would definitely use them again.

Reliant over 24 outages

Exceptional service and reliability. Installations of both Generac units at two different houses over the last 12 years went without a hitch. We have between both houses well over 24 times lost power in our neighborhood with only our house with lights on. A tarp blew over it cutting off airflow for over ten minutes. It overheated with smoke rolling out. They told use to let it cool and it started back up again during Covid. The part that melted continued to functioning for months and when the supply chain got the part they replaced it.

I purchased a Generac Generator from Midwest Generator Solutions in May. We've never really had power problems, but we do get some bad storms so we wanted to be prepared. The very NEXT WEEKEND our power was down and our Generac kicked on without issue. It was simply amazing. Our experience with Midwest Generator Solutions was educational, professional and enjoyable. We are very happy we made the investment...and it's already paying for itself!

Capable but very long lead times

Initially, I was pleased with my interactions with MGS but was a bit perturbed by a few things and ultimately had to change direction at the last minute which put me in a bind and caused me a lot of unneeded stress to find a new contractor on short-notice. MGS clearly has a lot of experience installing generators and they provided me with what was the most competitive bid at the time. However, I was facing a deadline to install by a certain date to claim an extended warranty promotion. The sales person quoted a lead time about 30 days out that was really pushing the deadline, but assured me they had a way to work around activation if needed so I wouldn't lose the promotion. I gave MGS the verbal approval. When the office called me to take deposit, I decided to re-validate the sales persons statement. Boy, am I glad I did. The office told me they did NOT have a workaround to ensure I got my unit activated by the deadline......and they quoted me a lead time for install that was 2 months out! I know it is hard to find quality people these days, but a 2 month lead time is crazy. MGS really needs to add resources to bring lead times down to something more reasonable like 2-4 weeks. I found another certified dealer by searching local Google reviews that got the job done in 2 weeks from quote to install and ended up being the best bid I received and did excellent work. As I've had time to think about it, I'm also dismayed that the sales person indicated my 20kw would not start both AC's (he made this statement without looking at LRA). He included costly Smart Mgmt Modules to rectify. As I found out later, the Generac transfer switch has load-shed built-in for AC's already - all that was needed was to run a small conduit 20ft down the side of the house and problem solved. This just goes to show it's always good to do your own research, ask a lot of questions and be sure to validate the answers before signing on the dotted line.

We are really pleased with the maintenance we received today on our generator. The tech was very knowledgeable, very thorough, and gave good advice on what to watch for. We had a serious problem with ants inside our generator which could use serious expensive damage unless eliminated quickly. He advised us what to do. He is a fine representative of the quality of service offered by Midwest Generator Solutions

The entire crew were pleasant, knowledgeable, and extremely efficient. They obviously enjoy working as a team, and do their jobs well. They were on time, and at the end of the day, I understood the generator, felt comfortable with the operation of the unit, and know it is thoroughly tested and ready to support us.
