I have called 3 times to get a bid for a new cover as ours is rusting. Still waiting. Will call someone else.

Don't Count on Them

M & S originally installed my generator. Though it has been on service contract they have rarely serviced it and it rarely works when needed. I called today for service and they said the one tech that could service it was tied up on new installs for 16 days! By the way, according to the recent techs the original installers did the switch wiring wrong and they had to redo it under warranty. They now claim that I need to schedule inspections as needed, but their own form indicates two inspections per year and they have gone over a year since coming. I have given up on them. Don't count on them!

This is THE company to hire!!!!!

Michael & Son Services, Inc. is totally professional and went above and beyond the project requirements to make sure I have what I need. The bid presented was thorough and had everything broken down so we could see what we are paying for, Franks the greatest!!! There service was timely and the installation technician was neat and kept the job site very clean. They took the time to do the job right, and followed through on everything they said they would do. High quality work at a fair price along with knowledgeable salesman and installers makes this the company to hire. I have already raved about them to friends and coworkers. Probably the best investment next to the house itself.

Not only Professional, but Fun to work with!

From the initial comfort consultant to the last technician, this was a very enjoyable process. The consultant's expertise and suggestions not only made us comfortable, but saved us thousands over what we thought we needed for a whole house solution. The technicians were polite, enjoyable and most of all clean! They left the house better than they found it. Now rather than dreading the next storm, We're looking forward to it. The only question Michael and Son didn't help us with is whether to let the neighbors in when they are without power and we're home enjoying life!

Can't Handle an Installation

We had to switch installers midway through the installation of our generator because the M&S employee wouldn't show up when scheduled and made critical mistakes.

Michael and Son installed our Generator. They took on a difficult job that involved an impossible HOA, and strict County codes. We called 2 other dealers we found on Generacs website. Both reps were friendly, but never returned our calls after they came out, and never gave us an estimate. The rep from Michael and Son came out, gave us a different perspective, called his manager "Mike G", asked for direction, gave us the options, and closed the deal. They had great ideas, that cost more than than we anticipated, and made us believers. The Generator was installed perfectly, ran for 36 hours during Sandy, and allowed us to stay home. Thank you Michael and Son! A job done perfectly!!

Worst Customer Service I have ever encountered

Michael & Sons installed my Generac generator. My generator currently has a problem starting. I called for an appt which was 25 days from the day I called. When the technician evaluated the issue,he said he would go over the parts needed with his manager and someone would get back with me the next day. Two days later when I called to talk to the service coordinator, he indicated that the tech. had not turned in his service ticket and that he would follow-up with me the next day. Two more days later when I called and requested status, the coordinator told me that the techs only turned in their tickets on Monday mornings at a weekly meeting and he would call me that morning after calling the parts order to Generac. Well, it is the next day, I still haven't heard back and prompted to come to the Generac web page to look for another service company. If you need service on your generator in the Washington, DC area, don't bother to deal with Michael & Sons, even if they were the installers, unless you are within warranty.

Michael & Son did the initial installation of our generator as well as the previous maintenance and some trouble shooting, which I was pleased with. In 2010 I requested a generator key during a repair and have not received yet. February 2012 was confirmed for maintenance call, took off work to be home and Michael & Son never showed! I called after storm in June when generator didn't start. After 4 calls was finally told 'emergency call' is 24 to 48 hour wait & must pay $275 for 'emergency call.'
