Dealer not great.

Never returned an estimate after they visited the home.

Set Unit and 10 mo later not hooked up!

We received a quote and approved. Waited for the generator to arrive off of back order. I had to initiate an install date since they didn't let me know that my generator had come in. They came and set the generator and transfer switch. The installers said they had to leave since they did not bring the boring and trenching equipment with them. That was 10 months ago. The generator is not hooked up to the gas line and the electric line to the switch has not been run. Multiple conversations with the owner to get the job completed and still not done. What a nightmare!

This dealer would not be my first choice.

I'll first state that the person quoting the product (a Generac Generator) was sensational, however he no longer works there. The start date was met on time and the crew arrived on time. The new equipment fired up and worked as prescribed after the normal time period for installation. That's where the good news ends.When the workers reconnected the individual house circuits they failed to connect two circuits (one was a dedicated refrigerator outlet). Having to break into the main gas line for the house to install a new branch line for the generator they were remiss in restarting the gas water heater at the end of the installation phase. The original main electrical panel was left with a 2" hole in the top directly over the 220V input line - no hole plug. Just waiting for some foreign metal object to fall in and short out the main power.When this was brought to the attention of the management they failed to have someone here on Monday morning first thing and acted as though we should adjust our schedule to meet their availability.Finally, the biggest insult to us, the customer, was that there was no apology from anyone at any level from Kerwin Electric for the poor workmanship and inconvenience. This has been reported to Generac directly and who were equally abhorred by the level of service and lack of professionalism from a business that represents the Generac name.

I have bought a lot of outdoor power equipment from steensma. Mower, snowblower,chainsaw,and received great service. The guys were friendly,and knowledgeable. The generator install was smooth and fast,clean up was great. I recommend them to everyone.

Kerwin installed my generator and it had a minor problem early on at 11:30PM during a power outage. I called their emergency hotline, and they came out and fixed it at 2AM during a power outage! How's that for service. The Generac product is excellent. I live on a lake and power goes out often. When others are in the dark, I'm watching tv in my air conditioned lake home! Thank you to Kerwin and Generac...

Installed generator incorrectly, cancelled appointment to repair

When I moved to the area, we knew we needed a whole-house generator, but weren't sure about a dealer. Found these folks near us and they installed the generator (prepaid of course) Unfortunately, in hooking up the generator, they managed to short circuit the house AC on the hottest day of the year. The office was very apologetic, said they took pride in their work and would get things "right." That was two days ago: the tech was supposed to come this afternoon to fix the bad wiring, but at 4:30 he called to cancel and said that tomorrow didn't look too good either. He suggested I call the office to make an appointment sometime when he could make it. As far as we're concerned, if you can't do the work, don't enter into a contract to do it.

Superior in all respects.

This was one of the best buy/installation experiences we have had. Could not have been better.
