Very unprofessional customer service

During a power outage, our generator would start but not send power to the house. I called J&D. They scheduled a tech to come out right away. For "Responsiveness" I rated FAIR only because the Tech made it out to the house right away. As far as responding to phone calls and emails, the responsiveness by J&D Power Equipment is POOR. In the meantime, I was told my generator had not been serviced "in a long time, which is probably why it will not run correctly". Once they really checked their records they realized it was only one month overdue for service. They then proceeded to tell me in a frustrated voice that I needed to pay upfront labor costs before the tech could even start work at my house. WHAT?! They said I was late with paying a previous invoice, when actually they neglected to deposit the check.... WOW. How's that for customer service? Turns out the failure had nothing to do with being only one month overdue for service. The problem was yet ANOTHER FAULTY Generac controller, which costs $500+ and had already been replaced less than 22 months prior! That's right, I had to pay over $1000 for 2 of the same part to be replaced within 22 months! That's just the cost of the part. I also had to pay labor costs for them to install it! I had to ask J&D Power Equipment to reach out to Generac for reimbursement or replacement for just one of the controllers. They did not propose the idea, they just asked for my credit card# to pay for the controller, labor and travel. After a couple weeks of not hearing from them I called for a status. They simply said Generac denied their request and that I should contact them myself. Again, horrible customer service! When I contacted Generac they said that end customers cannot return parts to the factory, only service dealers like J&D Power Equipment can. So, I went back to J&D Power Equipment asking them to return the faulty controllers for reimbursement or repair. They said angrily, "I'm not going to waste anymore time filling out a return!" I asked them what my time was worth, to which they again replied angrily, "That's your problem!" I was nothing but kind and cooperative with these people throughout this whole ordeal.There must be a HUGE demand for generator repair because I am VERY surprised that J&D Power Equipment is still in business. I am actively seeking a new Generac service dealer.

Tune Up

Had my system tuned and the oil changed cost $300.00 they also set some kind of gap. The next time the power went out the Generator did not start the teck came out and flipped a switch a couple of times and said the gap probably needed to be set and did not have time to check it.
