Great To Work With

Harris Comfort sold me a whole house generator and installed it. I thought the price was fair and they were all very nice, easy to speak with and knowledgeable. The installation team was not only really good at their work but very respectful of our home. They even cleaned the floor in my basement where they tracked in a little dirt. I had an issue with my gas company (Amerigas - stay away!). Harris really went out of their way to work around this issue which I appreciated.

As a current contractor for 25 years, the most important aspect of business is communication and quality of work! The owner Mike, the office staff, specifically Daniella to the installers were GREAT!!! As a homeowner you almost have to GC the job coordinating Natural gas or your Propane supplier with generator install. Then scheduling inspections and closing out permits/final inspections. It's a process as my propane supplier gave me fits to no end. So as far as Mt. Salem Electric, the really do a fantastic job...Daniella goes beyond expectation. Thanks Daniella and Mike and Staff!

Harris turning away new customers

Never had a company turn new business away before. Called Harris because they are listed on the Generac website as the top generator repair company in my area. I think my emergency generator's trickle charger needs repair and I called to get someone to troubleshoot it. The lady on the phone first tried to sell me one of two annual service appointments (oil changes). She sounded a lot like she was wearily reciting a memorized script. After she let me explain that I needed a repair, she told me they only serve their own customers and to call my propane provider (who does not repair generators). Glad to learn they are doing so well they don't want new customers.

Extremely rude phone operator

Contacted the company about emergency service on my generator. The operator was so rude, I decided to go somewhere else. I am surprised the company is throwing away business like this. Shame.

Level of customer service (and human kindness) was greatly appreciated.

The reason that we selected Harris to install our generator (we interviewed three other companies) was the knowledge that Tom Christie displayed regarding the product, process and expertise that the Harris team could provide us. Tom took the time to thoroughly answer all of our questions and instilled confidence in him and the company he represented. We were extremely impressed with the team from Harris that installed our generator, which included Mike Hornstein as the team leader supported by Jake and Ryan (as well as Jamie who executed the scheduling). All of the team members were very courteous and professional as well as exceptionally efficient. During the installation they had to work in muddy conditions and took extra care to disturb the lawn as little as possible (which they successfully accomplished, despite digging to bury the cable) and were very conscientious about wearing “booties” over their shoes when they entered the house in order to keep it clean. Throughout the day they maintained focus and attention to details. They were also very kind and caring individuals. The team completed their job earlier than expected, and my wife (who contracted with Harris for the job) was not yet home to learn about the generator operation. Rather than simply explain it to me and be able to leave early, Mike insisted that they reschedule their lunch time so they could return when my wife was present. This level of customer service (and human kindness) was greatly appreciated. We highly recommend Harris to anyone interested in installing a generator.
