    Outstanding Service

Great experience with GTI Power Systems! The technicians were professional, on-time, and efficient. They installed our Generac quickly and after they left you could not tell they had been here. They took the time to explain everything, so I knew exactly what to expect when the power went out. Highly recommend this company!

    DON'T USE GTI - !!!

I was initially impressed with GTI's installation team. They were friendly and appeared to know what they were doing when they came to my home on May 8 to install my 22kw Next Generation generator. However, after they installed the generator I compared the installation to Generac's installation guidelines and was concerned that they appeared to have committed several installation errors that were both safety concerns and might possible put my 7-year "bumper-to-bumper" warranty at risk. So, I called Generac Customer Support and reported what I believed to be errors in the installation and they confirmed that GTI had, indeed, failed to follow their installation guidelines in several respects and that my warranty could be at risk. They also informed me of some other mistakes that GTI had made with respect to the installation. Generac recommended that I contact GTI to correct the installation errors and they opened an investigation into the matter. Here is the list of GTI's miscues: 1. Installed the wrong size rigid pipe, installing a 1" metal pipe instead of the 1-1/4" diameter pipe that was clearly called for on page 21 of the installation manual because of the distance of the generator from the natural gas meter; 2. Installed the flex fuel line improperly in multiple ways and against the clear instructions and diagram on page 22 of the installation manual: vertically instead of horizontally; with a sharp bend/angle in it instead of straight and directly attached it to the fuel inlet instead of to a proper gas fitting in-between the two; 3. Failed to discuss with me anything about making sure I had the proper size generator for my home's needs; 4. Failed to discuss with me whether my gas meter was large enough to handle the increased gas volume needs of a 22kw generator. I took it upon myself to address issues 3 and 4 and ultimately had the gas utility in my area replace my gas meter with a larger one, as Generac Customer Support suggested. However, when I informed GTI of issues 1 and 2, they tried to convince me that everything was fine, notwithstanding what Generac's installation manual said. They told me that always installed their generators in this fashion and never used any pipe larger than 1" unless they were installing a commercial-size, extremely large generator. I was told they had even used a 1" on a 100' installation without a problem. I told them I wanted the installation to be done according to the Generac manual to protect my warranty rights. Although they agreed to my request and did replace the pipe with a 1-1/4" pipe and corrected the flex fuel line, as well, when they finished and conducted a test of the generator under load the water column pressure dropped to 0.2" of pressure in the gas line. Instead of trying to figure out why this was occurring the lead GTI technician on the installation team seemed almost giddy about the situation, stating that he did what I wanted and what the Generac manual called for and the generator's performance was now worse, He refused 3 of my requests to call Generac's Technical Support team and solve the problem and left. I received no follow-up calls or offers from GTI to come out and even try to fix the problem and I even have a 1-year service/maintenance agreement with GTI. I performed an AI search on Google Gemini's search engine and learned the problem could be a faulty or undersized regulator on my gas supply line to the gas meter. The gas utility sent a technician out at my request to investigate and that gas utility tech spent 4 hours working on the problem, eventually resolving it by replacing the regulator, but NO THANKS TO GTI, WHO ABANDONED A NEW CUSTOMER AND SHOWED ABSOLUTELY NO CONCERN WHATSOEVER FOR TRYING TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. I then spoke to GTI's owner and complained about all of this and while he apologized for his employee's rude behavior, he did not explain why the installation guidelines were not followed. He actually defended his technician by saying that his technician knows what he is doing. I disagreed with him and told him he obviously does not know what he is doing if he does not follow the Generac installation guidelines and it would be my concern if I were him that many of their installations have been done improperly. Based upon my experience, I would not recommend GTI Power Systems to anyone but would go with another IASD and hope they are better and follow the proper installation guidelines and are willing to help a customer when a problem presents itself. This horrible experience took 5 weeks to finally get the installation corrected and the generator running properly.

    Irritated customer

Had a certified service person look at my Generac but because he doesn’t work on Generac he was not able to help me. He checked the oil and it was very clear. I’ve only used the generator a couple times. It started working but quit and now has a red light. Something is causing it to trip.I called GTI and all she could do was say well you need to do maintenance, you need to do an oil change. do that and see what happens. the person I had looking at it said the oil was fine so I’m sure that it’s not the oil making it stop working. all she saw was 195 dollars to change the oil which she could schedule it now but before she said that she commented on how busy they really were.

    Off the charts service

My generator was down and I called GTI Power Systems. I thought it would be weeks to get someone out but he came out the next day. Polite and fixed the problem quickly. I felt the price was good and service was off the charts.

    Absolutely Awesome

I called two different generator companies for estimates. I am so glad I chose GTI. Awesome service, prompt and reasonably priced. The estimate was quick and the installers were outstanding. GTI goes above and beyond. I am extremely happy with my purchase. I am going to recommend GTI Power Systems to my family and friends.

    Amazing Customer Service!

I called GTI on Monday and they had a technician to my home by Tuesday. The technician was prompt and was able to repair my generator the same day! Highly recommend this company!
