No Service - No Apologies

I've had this generator for just over two years, and listened to it perform a self-test every week, like clockwork. I thought this meant all was well. Cue the Grasten tech who performs the last service of my two year agreement, and wait one month. Now cue a freakin' Hurricane to blow the cover of the unsecured (that's right - he neglected locking the cover back down) and flood the interior of the now useless generator. Believe me when I say that standing in the driving rain working out why the thing wasn't running was no picnic. Three attempts to get their attention, which had to be done through support pages and emails since they weren't answering, calls and all I get is "We're too busy to take new customers (??!!)" and "Click here to renew your maintenance agreement." Not one syllable about the original complaint. I am forced to take my business else where they might actually send out a technician to troubleshoot a generator failure - in less than 2 months time.

NO CUSTOMER SERVICE

Grasten has no customer service. Have annual service contract and they did not show up in June to do the first service. Hurricane hit and generator would not start. Went out in storm and got it working. Lost power last night and generator threw a code, Grasten wont be out for 3 weeks to fix the issue. Have been trying to get them out since July 8th with no success. Wasted a lot of money for a 38 KW generator that does not work. DON'T USE GRASTEN.

Good... for nothing.

These guys are a joke. Poor customer service skills and no clue about how an apology works or what needs to be done to potentially save a business transaction. Listen to your customers and find a way to deliver value along with effective communication. It's simple really. Resorting to bad-mouthing your competition and going on about your 5 star reviews does not help you at all. If the 5 star review doesn't have pictures, at least two dozen other reviews to their credit, or is from a local guide, then it doesn't count as valid. It's really too easy to fake reviews in this day and age. Yeah, your competition wasn't great but they did what they said they were going to do rather than what you did... which was nothing.

Horrible Customer Service

Generator failed at the start of Hurricane Beryl despite it being 3 years old and under a maintenance plan. Called immediately and told I was on a list. Called again several times and followed all instructions for callback. Have not heard back for 11 days. Initial phone call: Technician sent me out in the middle of the storm when it uprooted my tree and asked for visual description - responded with shock and basically told me I’m screwed. No previous indication of generator error. Weekly exercise schedule ran perfectly. Ended up with 6 days power outage.

Poor service when needed

We had Grasten service our generator for the last two years, both my parents and our Generac generators. In the last week, due to Beryl, my parents generator was inoperable when they needed it the most. The last service date was 11/2023 by Grasten. When we called to get service last week, it was understandable there was a wait, but since then, there has been no follow up, no calls, nothing. And in that time, we found the battery and cables were corroded resulting in the generator not working. We have tried calling and getting a hold of someone to no avail. Be careful using them. I will not be.

Grasten is terrible

We bought 60kw standby generator from them...they took over a year to get it, multiple times they set dates to install it and then delayed. Our first time use it was in tropical storm Beryl in July '24 and it did not automatically start. We called the company in the middle of the storm and they would not help us get it started. Rather, they said they would call us back, which they never did. Presumably Generac has better dealers than these guys.

Bad service.

I bought the 24kW Generac generator unit 3 years ago. It was installed by Grasten. The unit stopped working after Beryl hurricane. I called Grasten for the services, and after almost a week, no technician showed up or no one called me back.

I was in need of power charger for my older 20KW Generac generator. They helped me out with a charger for around $30 less than online. I do not think they normally sell parts over the counter. It would have taken at least 4 business day from any online shop. Due to the hurricane we were out of power. According to Entergy we would not get power back for at least 4 days. - very thankful

These people have been keeping us waiting for months to replace the motor in our Generac that we bought in April and broke down during our first service in may. To replace the Motor they say they need two people and I guess people who are getting serviced by one person is more important than we are. We paid 14K for this generator and had two power failures and did not have a working machine because of Grasten.

The best in the business

I have had several generators installed by Grasten, and have found their prices to be excellent but more importantly, their service is supreme. I have referred them to all my business associates and friends and everyone has been glad I did. Great company, great service, always the best there is.
