Very happy with the entire online parts buying experience including some helpful technical advice on the phone. Some parts I needed were not initially found on their website but Chris added them into their database so I could do one stop shopping. Parts were shipped promptly and split into 2 orders to get me the best delivery possible. Prices were lowest and free shipping on orders over 49$. All good. Highly recommend.

Chris is professional, friendly and responsive to all the questions we had for before, during and after our generator install. I did a lot of research before deciding to use Gentek and am more than thrilled with our choice. I have and will continue to refer Chris/Gentek. This is the best help forum I have used. My compliments to the moderators for keeping everything on topic and not letting a lot of unqualified people make post. The technical help was great and on target. They were able to talk me through the diagnosis so that I was able to get them the info they needed. They came up with the appropriate part numbers and the parts department had everything to my door in two days. Price was very competitive as well. This will be my first stop for all things generator from now on.

I had requested warranty service from another vendor from the generac web site, they were highly rated but in person they were a disaster.They showed up, turned off my generator, left and never returned after 6 weeks with out protection.

My generator started malfunctioning just before the utility imposed power shutoffs in Northern California. Needed a part ASAP. Found Gentek Power online and spoke with Chris. I explained my situation and asked him to send the part to me overnight. He shipped it to me with next day delivery and kept me apprised of the status of my shipment. He was very quick to reply to emails and telephone messages, and even gave me some insight into what may be happening with my generator.

This is a glowing recommendation for Gentek. Once I made the decision to install a full-house generator, I started the process with quotes from 2 competing companies and one from Gentek. Here is the reason I selected Gentek.Chris (the owner) explained to me in terms I could understand\u2026..how the system works, what the installation involves, and what I would need to do to maintain the system. Before the contract was signed, Chris checked the local regulations to ensure that I was \u201cgrandfathered in\u201d to a new variance. He (and I) didn\u2019t want any surprises. I felt more comfortable dealing with the owner instead of a salesperson.Once the process began, I ran into trouble with the local gas company. I had to upgrade the gas meter and, unfortunately, the paperwork was lost and the delay was another 3 weeks. I was assured by Gentek that it was not a problem and that as soon as the new meter was installed, the generator would be installed shortly thereafter. And it was!!Chris was professional, friendly, and always available to answer any question I may have. He has a very broad and comprehensive knowledge about generators and all things electrical. Chris is a great guy. He answered all of my many questions and was more than willing to educate me on what I should and shouldn't worry about when it comes to whole house generators.

I was given a 17,500watt generator from my parents. It was brand new with literally 1hour on it ( and that was from playing around showing it off ) my brother hooked it up to their house with no transfer switch ( illegal and DEADLY TO LINEMEN don\u2019t do this!!!) well when my brother started it to test it out my dad said \u201c all the lights in the house got really bright, then everything died \u201c turns out my brother didn\u2019t turn off city power so the two power sources collided. After bringing it to \u201c REPUTABLE \u201c shops and paying for diagnostics and repair quotes the cheapest was $1,500.00 they said the stator and rotor were fried. My dad moved so he just gave it to me ( it\u2019s got a 1,000cc push button start motor that ran perfectly I had to keep it ) that was 7 years ago. I kept saying I was going to pony up the money and fix it but never did. I was getting ready to give it away a month ago then thought \u201c I should google it \u201c that\u2019s how I found Gentek Power. I registered and posted a comment with my symptoms. Chris responded in 7 minutes. I have a multimeter but don\u2019t know how to use it. Chris walked me through the electrical diagnostics. I don\u2019t know how he did it. He has the patience of Job. It took over 50 posts to diagnose it ( if someone knew anything about electricity it would have probably only taken 10 posts ) turns out it was only the voltage regulator. I ordered the part, and a week and LESS than $200.00 and it\u2019s running like, and producing power like new. If anyone needs parts or information Gentek Power is the ONLY PLACE to go. I got in touch with GenTechPower when I found that my local repair company really had no idea of what was wrong with my 48K Generac whole-house generator system. My local guys were familiar with much smaller air cooled systems and kept steering me toward replacing a very expensive control board unit. That didnt make much sense to me... as I was getting an "RPM Sense Error". I consulted with GenTechPower and they told me right away that their experience was that it was a fairly basic part that senses if the generator is running and that they had the part, for less than I could get it from my local dealer. Bought the new sensor and the generator is now running just fine. I was very impressed with the owner's experience and willingness to help. I will deal with him again. No complaints. Very helpful

I had Gentek install a whole house generator in April 2019. Gentek was right on time with the schedule I received from them. Chris is very knowledgeable and took care of everything from start to finish. He kept me updated on the installation as it happened. I would highly recommend Gentek to anyone wanting to install or service a Generator!

Gentek installed a Generac 22kw in Clawson, Michigan in December 2018. I had my own plumber install a new gas line and arranged for the gas company to install a high capacity 425,000btu meter. Gentek was very knowledgable, professional, fast and extremely couteous. A great company to deal with and I would surly recommend them to anyone for their back-up power needs.
