Great experience!

I was doing a whole-house remodel including all electrical. Discovered that I had an incorrect breaker box connecting from my generator to my electrical panel and it would not pass inspection. Long story short, I decided to upgrade my very old Generac 17KW to a 22KW to accommodate the whole house which now has lots of things controlled by wi fi, etc., so definitely wanted everything covered by the generator. My electricians contacted Generators of Houston and arranged for the installation which went smoothly. I worked with Misty regarding the maintenance and warranty information. She was also great. My generator was installed in May 2020 before the pandemic really took hold. I have read where some people have had problems because it became difficult to get generators installed due to manufacturing. I can only speak for my experience which was great! The key for me in choosing a generator dealer/installer is that they keep me informed. It is essential to have routine maintenance on your generator!

Generators of Houston is FANTASTIC!!

Since having our 22 KW generator installed we have been nothing but pleased with every aspect of our purchase. Beginning with the customer service, to the installation itself, through several maintenance visits, we have had only positive encounters. The generator runs weekly as it is set up to do, and on the occasions that the power has actually gone out, the unit has run perfectly under full load, and has kept the whole house running just as it does while on the grid. Misty has been particularly helpful and knowledgeable whenever I have had a question. She responds promptly, and has answered all questions professionally and in a friendly manner. I have highly recommended Generators of Houston to anyone I have heard with interest in purchasing a generator.

Wrong diagnosis

Generators of Houston came out for $350 to diagnose problem-diagnosis replace entire transfer switch for $2800-technician says non essential load shedding switch is bad-why can\u2019t we replace just that part? -they sell a replacement for $680 which we purchase and have installed rather than pay $2800 for a entire new switch- problem persists -tech says must be circuit board -owner of company says he will come out and charge us for the new piece and pull the wrong piece out and charge us a 30% restocking fee of almost $200 and another $350 for pulling out the wrong piece but says we really should replace obsolete generac transfer switch. Call another generator company over the phone he says pull the cable that is a test switch for the tech and that should fix your problem \u2014no cost whatsoever-paid Generators of Houston almost $1300 for absolutely nothing and bad customer service

Rude, Dishonest, unfriendly, and horrible customer service. If these words appeal to you, then this might be your place. If you are like any other customer who prefer to buy from companies with integrity, and who can stand behind what they are selling and servicing, then you'll want to find another dealer. I'd be embarrassed and ashamed to let a company like this sell or represent anything with my name on it.

I called in to ask about maintenance for my generator. Misty was able to send me a detailed itemized report of what is done upon each visit. She was specific about the cost and responded in a very fast manner. I was even unsure of the model of my generator and she was able to identify based off of my picture very quickly.

Setting up Service for Residential Generator

Misty has been very helpful and informative in setting up a service plan for my residential generator. It is very comforting to know my generator will be taken care of on a set basis and will be ready to work if we have a storm or lose power. This will give me peace of mind!
