Very Slow and Poor Quality Parts

I have had my Generac generator for five years. The automatic transfer switch has gone out three times now. Just today when I called to schedule a service call, it took 10 minutes to finally get that done. As others have noted, I have had technicians call when they were en route to my house at a time other than what was scheduled. The technicians themselves seem to be knowledgeable, but not professional.

Appointments

We have had 3 appointments with this company1 no show no calls. 2 appointments the company calls at last minute to cancel and reschedule. Very disappointed in this company.

Refused to see the property

Refused to come out and see the property, saying that they've got too many jobs to bother with actually doing in-home estimates, instead demanding that I drive all the way out to their showroom in Rockwall. I'm glad you all are popular, but if you want me to spend $15,000 with you, and there are variable costs as far as gas and electric hookups go, I think it's more than fair that I ask that you come see what you'll be working with so that I can get accurate information. I'm glad you guys have so much work, because you won't be getting mine, and that reflects poorly on Generac as a brand if this is how you treat their prospective customers.

Very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the entire process. Always returned calls and took time to explain the next step.

Avoid.

Pricing is fair but ultimately extremely poor communication. No follow up even after deposit. Once they have your deposit "crickets". All communications have to be initiated by the customer. Installation date missed by over a month. No shows, late reschedules or simply no contact at all. Total time at house approximately 6 total hours. Time to actually show up for those 6 hours over a month. I am not really sure how anyone that works full time could afford to contract with this company. It is also an extremely poor reflection on Generac......

Everything went smooth from my sales appointment, to the installation process, and finishing up the job. Turn-key installations are the way to go.

Born impressed

Took forever to have someone call and schedule an in home assessment, once they were out the guy walked around my house then sat on my couch and started scribbling stuff down on a notepad. He didn't look at my panels or ask me any questions. The quote was about average for the price and when I asked if it included permitting they said they could do it cheaper if I didn't want the permits. 4 months passed and I got a call from them wondering why I hadn't purchased!!

as the saleperson was leaving he asked "if I was getting any other quotes" I said "yes" his response was "ill match whatever their price is if its lower" very unprofessional in my opinion
