Works As Needed
With DTE's abysmal outage frequency and length, I decided to go w/ a whole-home standby generator. I chose Electrical Contractor of Michigan because he was local and had a great price. The installation went very well and they were very communicative of current status of parts, installation, the DTE gas manifold upgrade (sigh, expect to pay $2300 to DTE for this), and a couple minor faults caused by DTE's on-going off-again-on-again power switching. Finally, last week DTE gave the generator a good run by having a 4-hour outage, and just as well I wasn't home for it. Everything kicked on as expected and I didn't even notice I had an outage until I checked the app. I'm glad I went with the whole home generator and with ECM.
