Beware.

I purchased a generac through Collins and the while the install went fine their follow up service and maintenance is very poor. I pay to have my generac monitored via internet and purposely turned off the WIFI to see if my generac was indeed being monitored. Had it off for several weeks and nothing. No call no follow up. My yearly maintenance is due every summer. No call to schedule as there was in previous years. I would be careful contracting these folks if you expect and type of follow up service.

Collins Control was fantastic to work with

They left our property better than they found it. Fast, efficient, friendly, very knowledgable, thorough, and prompt. Everything they committed, they did even with some tricky ground/walls to work around. They were recommended to us originally and we'd readily recommend to others. The inspector agreed that it was an excellent job.

Very Happy

Collins installed a home back generator for me. The generator works perfect when power goes out. Its so nice not having to be without power when it does go out. The work crew installers were awesome. As it turned out coincidentally one of my underground power legs went out to my shop. They were able to locate the break and fix it for us. It was a tough break to find and turned into big job but they were tenacious and got it fixed for me. I could not have asked for better service than Collins gave me. I highly recommend you use them if you want it done right. Thank you to all the guys there.

Amazing customer service

I have been working to add solar to a generator system that was installed by Collins control and electric and doug has been a stellar example of customer service and knowledge. Supremely helpful in getting the two systems tied together. I highly recommend them for their work ethic and commitment to customer service.

Price Gouge in Covid-19 Environment

Talk to Doug Monday March 16, 2020 morning. Gave me a price of $2100.00 (same as home depot, he said) for a generator. I knew it was higher than Home Depot but I let it ride & told him I'd take it (he had my number at this point) and he said he'd meet met at about 2p in Johnstown, CO, where the generator was. (I live in the mountains west of Boulder). Drove there and met at 5p. First thing he does is pull out a pre-printed invoice with a cost of $2,356.00, even more than before. same model is $999.00 on line at Northern Tool. He never called to give me a chance to say no before I drove all that way. I told him I don't do business like that & left.

The Collins crew is the best

The Collins team was so good. Boulder County is not the easiest place to build and the Collins crew navigated it with ease. They discovered issues with my original permitting and solved the problem with no extra effort on my part. They came up with creative solutions to right size the equipment and the bid. They communicated well for the install and even went the extra mile for how it looked. When I came out to look at the work, the crew installing saw that I was a bit dismayed as to where they ran the conduit pipe. I had pretty serious project fatigue and just wanted everything finished. Doug called later to ask when they could come move it. I told him I did not even say anything. He said that my reaction was pretty clear and they were going to make it perfect. So much for my poker playing. Thanks for going the extra mile.

Professional

I was a little skeptical about hiring an out of state company (I am in WY) to install and then maintain a full house generator. From the initial evaluation to the final city inspection, they exceeded my expectations. The coordination with all parties was flawless and the professional installation crew worked seamlessly with local contractors. The follow up has been outstanding as they have checked to see if I had question or problems. I would highly recommend Collins Control & Electric.

Superb customer service

I was truly fortunate to find the great folks at Collins Control & Electric. Our relationship started when I was having issues with an existing Generac generator. Doug and the service team were amazing to work with and helped me through the issues. I have now had 2 yearly services performed through them. Any national company is only as good as the local service team. Collins Control is the local company that saved my perspective and turned me into a lifetime customer. Call these folks.
