Price Gouge in Covid-19 Environment

Talk to Doug Monday March 16, 2020 morning. Gave me a price of $2100.00 (same as home depot, he said) for a generator. I knew it was higher than Home Depot but I let it ride & told him I'd take it (he had my number at this point) and he said he'd meet met at about 2p in Johnstown, CO, where the generator was. (I live in the mountains west of Boulder). Drove there and met at 5p. First thing he does is pull out a pre-printed invoice with a cost of $2,356.00, even more than before. same model is $999.00 on line at Northern Tool. He never called to give me a chance to say no before I drove all that way. I told him I don't do business like that & left.

The Collins crew is the best

The Collins team was so good. Boulder County is not the easiest place to build and the Collins crew navigated it with ease. They discovered issues with my original permitting and solved the problem with no extra effort on my part. They came up with creative solutions to right size the equipment and the bid. They communicated well for the install and even went the extra mile for how it looked. When I came out to look at the work, the crew installing saw that I was a bit dismayed as to where they ran the conduit pipe. I had pretty serious project fatigue and just wanted everything finished. Doug called later to ask when they could come move it. I told him I did not even say anything. He said that my reaction was pretty clear and they were going to make it perfect. So much for my poker playing. Thanks for going the extra mile.

I was a little skeptical about hiring an out of state company (I am in WY) to install and then maintain a full house generator. From the initial evaluation to the final city inspection, they exceeded my expectations. The coordination with all parties was flawless and the professional installation crew worked seamlessly with local contractors. The follow up has been outstanding as they have checked to see if I had question or problems.I would highly recommend Collins Control & Electric.
