CGC GENERATORS

A journeyman electrician did installation with NO supervision. He caused a power surge that fried my electric oven, garage door openers and stereo system. Their "master" electrician came to look at the damage and stated that my 30 year old house was not wired properly. Wanted $1,000.00+ to change some wiring. The oven service tech said problem was a power surge and wiring was correct for the oven. Also got a second opinion from a Moore Electrical electrician (who formally installed generators) who said that there was no problem with the house wiring. Also indicated that generator wiring was adequate, but far from the best he has seen. Their tech, Adam Cruz, was very unfriendly and did not return several calls.

I researched the internet because I needed to pick up an oil filter for my generator. CGC was listed as an elite dealer and near my location. I went by, but was quickly told by the receptionist that CGC only stocks parts for for their customers.

The technician \u201ctook over\u201d when the prior company failed miserably in installing our generator. He was very pleasant, knowledgeable, and professionable; identified the problem and resolved it at a very reasonable price. Quite candidly he was better and less expensive; I regret not engaging \u201cCruz\u201d initially and hence forth they will be the only company, not only at the top of the list, but the only ones on it!

An appointment was scheduled on Friday from 12 - 6. They did not show up so we called the next morning and they said they got "busy" on Friday but would be there today (Saturday) by 3 pm. It is Monday and I'm still waiting for them to show or call.

I have had this generator for about 11 years and this is the first time it had to be worked on. I found CGC Generators on this site and a number of others. After calling all of them I picked CGC and I am glad I did they were prompt, professional, and friendly. I hope I don't have any more problems for the next 11 years but if I do I will call CGC again.

Overall I really like the employees of Cruz Air. They are responsive and very friendly. The problem is with trying to get a response back from Adam. We have been trying to use Cruz Air for all our needs, from home to business. They installed our generator for us and did a pretty good job and since them things have gone down hill. We need some A/C work done for our home and Adam was suppose to have someone contact us. It has been over a year now. Recently we opened a new business office and had the electrician from Cruz Air come out to give us a quote. He told us that Adam would be contacting us with a quote, well it has been over 3 weeks now and we have not hear a thing. Like I said the employees and technicians at Cruz Air are great and very helpful to work with, but if you had to deal with Adam good luck.

Very prompt service, very professional, very knowledgable and very friendly.The only dealer I will use! We had a problem with a power outage to our oven during normal power service, not while running the generator. The outage was traced to a problem inside the Generac electrical panel. A technician was at our home shortly after contacting the dealer. All power restored within 30 minutes after his arrival.

I am a disabled Vietnam vet and my standby generator is a necessity for medical reasons. This dealer was prompt and went the extra mile to make sure everything was working properly.
