Their service is poor

They simply don't return calls when they say they will. They have come out to address an ongoing issue and the issue is still not resolved. I do NOT recommend this company.

This dealer is amazing!

I can't say enough about C & D Custom LLC. They've been servicing my portable generator for over 5 years. Everyone is friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. During the massive power outage in CT due to tropical storm Isaias, Amy and her staff went above and beyond to not only give excellent advice over the phone but made sure my generator was working properly. I didn't have power for 4 days.They treated me like a family member, not just a customer. I would recommend them without hesitation!!

service when I needed it

I have a whole house Generac generator installed by this dealer. He sold it to me with the explicit knowledge that my in-law apartment has electric heat and my tenant has a baby. When we lost power with the recent ice storm, my dealer himself was at my home within 20 minutes of my call; on a Sunday evening, in the dark and icy weather. He restored my generator's function within the hour and was on his way to another emergency call to help another customer. He's a great person and a reliable professional. He's been recommended to all of my neighbors.

Dealer made a bad cable and wouldn't accept responsibility for the damages caused.

This dealer installed a bypass switch at my house and didn\u2019t have a cable to connect my generator to the house when the switch was first installed. The cable was dropped off a few days later but the switch was never tested.The first time I lost power and connected the generator, the circuits on the A side of the switch had a serious problem: dishwasher burned out, lights were smoking in their fixtures, a clock and radio/cd player burned out, etc.The dealer said that the problem was caused by one of the hots and the neutral in the cable connector shorting out, and that was the responsibility of the cable connector manufacturer. He did accept partial responsibility for the damage to my dishwasher, offering to pay half of the repair costs, because he had never tested the system. I thought he should accept complete responsibility for all damage.He did return approximately a week later with another cable, and the system tested OK.He never did reimburse me for any damages. I contacted Generac, and they tried several times to get a response from this dealer, with no luck.

Knowledgeable, Friendly and Reasonable

He repaired a portable generator that had not been properly maintained. It was repaired in short order at a reasonable price. He also gave advice to keep the generator running properly.

I chose this dealer based on responses I received to my phone inquiry, even though they are some distance from my home. Arranged for a service call the following week. I was serviced the following day as they had another call in the area. That's great customer service, and I think I made the right choice.
