the contractor charged for service that wasn't provided

I was billed by ACH Electric for a one year service contract on my Generac Generator, but the contractor did not provide the maintenance service as required by the contract and he does not answer my emails or phone calls.

Poor Service and yearly maintenance contract

Seems the reviews on selling a new product and installation are fine but when you need a service, he is very hard to get hold of, always has excuses as to why he has not been out and in no way prompt in doing the half yearly checkup on the yearly service contract. Then doesnt even bother to send a renewal for the yearly service contract - obviously does not need the business or perhaps doesn't really want the service contracts!Found him very unreliable and will never use again.

Extremely poor follow-up - never returns client calls

Never returns your call and this is coming from a long term client of ACH. Literally have to drive down to Alan Hortons office to talk to him...if he's there. Very Disappointing!!! BTW this poor follow-up spans many years and repeated voicemail attempts.

Contacted Generac for free enegy survey. Generac recommended Horton and set up an appointment one week later on June 18, 2020. Horton was a no show. Didn't call, didn't write. didn't show up Called Horton twice. Voicemail was full and it did not allow me to leave a message.

Very poor service , doesn't call back !

The Technician , complained to me about not getting paid enough for GENERAC service calls !They should remove his dealership ans service contract .

HE REFUSED TO KEEP MY APPOINTMENT THAT THE COMPANY SET UP, HE STATED THAT HE DO NOT WANT TO WASTE 3 HRS OF HIS LIFE COMING OUT IF I WAS NOT READY TO PURCHASE THE PRODUCT. THEN HUNG UP THE PHONE ON ME, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS CONTRACTOR OR COMPANY TO ANYONE HOW CAN YOU STAY IN BUSINESS WHEN YOUR CONTRACTORS TREAT CLIENT THIS WAY. WILL FIND ANOTHER COMP[ANY TO DO MY BUSINESS WITH.

Never call him to New Hope PA.

He never shows up. He has an attitude. Please read all the other bad reviews on his company. Go to all pages. Do not call him. He does not care. We waited from January 2014 until April 2014 for him to come repair our generator, he never showed. I finally realized he enjoys jerking his customers around! There are other real people to call.

The deeler needs a buisness course

Generator paid for 8-10-2013. Never installed by dealer. Initial insulation date set for October 2013. Never showed for instillation or called or emailed an explanation. Again, instillation set for Jan. 2014. Never showed, never called or emailed. Have yet to receive the prepaid Smart Switch or the Wet cell Battery. Naturally I have hired someone else to do the instillation.

The installation and final inspections went off without any problems.The crew, especially Tony and Dave, were very professional, precise and very conscientious. They finished the work during a snow storm! I can only give the highest recommendation.Oh yes,The generator works great.

David and Tony came to my house to do the installation of the Generac 20KW unit. They were familiar with local building requirements and met and exceeded those requirements, putting in for example, a larger gas pipe to ensure the generator was able to get enough supply of gas. There work was done completely, quickly, and very neatly-- they covered the floor when needed, and also vacuumed when the job was complete, along with putting all basement ceiling tiles back into place.When an issue was raised on the town inspection, they quickly returned early the next day to resolve the issue. And, David provided me with his direct phone number should I have any questions or need any further support.

It's great knowing I'll have electric for the next Sandy.

Some upfront issues with installation of generator. Took quite a bit of time from contract to actual installation and obtaining information regarding the timing of installation, but this is somewhat understandable with the numerous generators being installed in the area. Still, could have done a better job keeping us informed. The installation personnel were excellent. Friendly, knowledgeable and responsive. Had some difficulties with local inspection reqts, but technicians were very prompt in resolving those issues. Even provided a personal cell phone number to enable contacting them if needed. Also, provided good rundown with familiarization with generator.

Alan Horton and his team were very professional and guided us through the process of which generator best suited our needs. They also handled all permits and inspections. We signed on for a yearly maintenance plan with ACH and they have been responsive to service calls.

The dealer provided guidance on installation (gas line location), installed the electrical and gaslines while working with me to move furniture, repaired the drywall cutouts, cleaned up afterwards, and scheduled a follow up meeting to walk us through the operations. He provided options for an ongoing support contract, but advised me to wait until the unit was first used so that I would not be paying for support unnecessarily. I was pleased.Last week the power went out in the neighborhood for 2 hours...but not at my house! Bring on the storms!

ACH Electric provided two highly skilled gentlemen to install our home generator system. They were very knowledgeable and professional, and communicated to us that their response time is slow due to the vast number of generator installations being requested in our area. Hence, quite a long wait time, but their quality of service is well worth the wait.

Alan just finished our installation and we are extremely pleased with everything. Alan took care of permits, city review & approvals and inspections, which was extremely convenient for us. Alan accomodated our work schedules and met with us in the evenings when we selected the generator and post-installation to run through the operation of the generator. Alan is a very dedicated and professional, yet personable, dealer to work with. We will continue working with him as we move into the service & maintenance phase of our purchase.

Great product and service

In the post-hurricane Sandy environment, many of us were in the market to get a generator before the hurricane season started again. This dealer got us the generator that was best for us and completed the installation in a timely manner. Although the power has not yet gone out, we are convinced that the service was well done, and that the product will pull us through.

Alan Horton did our generator installation in a timely way with no problems whatsoever -- inspections went very smoothly. He's been responsive to both regular maintenance and emergency issues ever since; he absolutely stands behind his commitment to take care of whatever needs doing. In addition to his own deep expertise, he has a great group of guys working with him, all knowledgeable, friendly, and polite. We highly recommend him.

Don\u2019t call for warranty service

For a warranty call you will be charged for something that is not under warranty. This way the dealer adds on a technician fee and a separate fee for the electrician\u2019s labor. Go figure\u2026. If this guy is called for a warranty issue you will pay.

Dealer never fixed problem

My 20 KW generator was installed 5 months ago. I noticed one day that the red light was on and I could not remove the error message. Generac gave me this dealer and he came the next day. He removed the message, the unit started and he billed me $l00. He said labor is not included in warranty. The same problem occured again and I again called Generac when I couldn't remove the message. They said the service man should have performed voltage tests to determine the problem and to call him back. I don't know if he returned but I still get messages. Yesterday I pushed the manual start and it started. After shutdown the message was cleared. I again called Generac and the support person gave me a different dealer. Asking about the costs for this call, Generac said Labor and Materials are covered for 2 years. That is not what this dealer told me. I have yet to get a paid invoice or receipt for my payment.
