Service Call Rip Off

I have had my generator for several years. I love my generator. All of the folks I have dealt with in the past have been wonderful and professional until I called in Dec. 2024, to ask for help having a wire that was disconnected during the installation of a new AC system reconnected to the new AC unit. During the service call the Generac tech said he saw nothing wrong and was ready to leave within 10 minutes...with a $209 charge. He said he didn't see any disconnected wires. I put him on the phone with the AC installer who told him where the wires were...inside the air handler. He never opened the air handler and again said all was OK. I told him I needed to know the AC would come on in the event of a power outage. He acted miffed that I wanted him to simulate a power outage but eventually agreed to it. He then left. I spoke with my brother in Virginia who installs AC units and he looked up the wire that was not connected. It was a safety feature...a load shed...which should have been reconnected. My AC installer came back out and opened the air handler so I could take a photo of the unconnected wires and my brother sent me a diagram of the load shed. I tried calling but generac wants online connections so I sent a text asking how/who to contact about the problem I got a call the next day from Service Dept. and the lady said it should be addressed and she would get back to me later that day. It has been over 2 weeks and I haven't heard a word and so I still have a safety feature not addressed. They said my AC guy was not allowed to connect the wires, but their tech couldn't even find them after being told exactly where they were. I have filed a dispute for the service call charge....I would like the service I paid for to be completed. I was told it was an "exploratory call to find and reconnect wires to my AC"...and they are still unconnected.

you won't find a better guy

Hurricane staring us down and Rob came out (twice) to get our generator going. I can't say enough good things about this guy. we will use him for any other generators/ service, etc we might need. THANKS Rob !!!!

Great sales and install, service after disapointing!

The purchase, and installation were excellent but, two years after when I needed them for an emergency service call for the first time, unless I gave them up front over the phone a $350 credit card charge they had nothing to do with me. Very disappointing after spending lots for a 22kw generator and a 10 year warranty from them! We need power for medical equipment, thank God TECO restored power after only 4 hrs, but cannot depend on GenerX after the sale!

Need substantial quality control measured

I recently discovered why my A/C usage has increased since the generator install. When they laid the cable through the attic they damaged the ducting and left a large hole in the duct. They never said a word and evidently Nobody bothered to inspect what the worker had done. After several months of higher utility costs I went up to see if there was a leak and the duct was knocked down and had a gaping hole. I was satisfied with the generator but quality control is lacking to make sure it is installed without creating damage.

No Service after sales

The service response after sales is none existence. If you can get a service response there price is ridiculous.

You can not go wrong with this company. They do it all and fast and complete start to finish. If they say they are going to do something they do it and them some. Great job for me. Thank you.

I compared prices with 4 different companies and length of time to get installed as well as service. No one and I mean no one can touch GenerX on any of these needs. These people are awesome from the original salesperson to the installers to the electrical guys. They did it all. One stop shop for sure. Will definitely recommend to anyone looking for a Generac Generator. Thank you guys…..

One of the very best dealers that I've ever dealt with in 74 years

I'm submitting this review regarding my SECOND generator from this very professional vendor. I have been a very satisfied customer for over a half dozen years. My wife and I moved to South Tampa. Since we had such a positive experience in our old home with Generx, we insisted on finding a house here that would have the infrastructure to support a generator. The home posed an engineering challenge for Generx in order to pass the City restrictions and ordinances. From Mark, the original engineer who evaluated our property (and a couple of others we were considering) to the in-house engineers, through the contract techs and administrators, EVERYONE at Generx acted with the highest degree of professionalism, patience, kindness, and enthusiasm. After the City finally agreed, the Generx engineers and installers went to work and their efforts were both herculean and amazing. The tricky installation took an entire (extremely hot) day. Every single Generx professional maintained their figurative cool, and did a fabulous job, under difficult circumstances, and still showed patience and a sense of humor. I'm fully operational, and very grateful to everyone at Generx for their superlative efforts. I recently told an executive at Generx that their work rated an A++, and that was a modest evaluation. Generx has my unqualified endorsement.

Terrible customer service

Sales and install were good. They fall completely apart when it comes to service. They gave me a 12pm to 3pm window. I wait, wait and wait. At 3:15 I call. "Oh, the tech had an emergency". They couldn't call me? Then when I asked the tech why he didn't call, his response, "That's not my job". He arrived 1.5 hours past the window. To add insult to injury the tech just laughs when I asked if the part was covered under warranty. Keep in mind the unit is only 18 months old. The tech then continues to antagonize by calling me an a-hole. It seems to be a problem with the company culture. I'm taking my service needs to Jack Joyner. They are cheaper and more responsive.
