Don't Stand Behind Their Work

Contracted with Double A because they offered a package deal to include the natural gas connection with the Generac installation. They sent out a technician that was not qualified to do natural gas work. Two months after installation the local gas utility had to disconnect the Generac due to a gas leak. Double A refused to even consider correcting their installation defect unless I paid a very large service call charge. I called in an independent gas contractor who found not only the leak but also an incorrectly installed gas regulator and gas pressure insufficient to operate the Generac at rated capacity during an electrical outage. He repaired it for less than Double A's trip charge. Double A refused to stand behind their work.

No follow up

Called to schedule. Had to pay $699 and sign a lengthy contract that they emailed me while on the phone with them that would have taken hours to read. Got scheduled. They cancelled because of the hurricane day and told me they would call me back on Thursday or Friday to reschedule. The following Tuesday I finally called them back and they scheduled for the next day but "we can not give you a time, the tech will call when he is on way". Waited all day and finally called them back at 3:30. "Tech is just finishing up and will call you" Arrived about 4:30. Unfortunately my generator had a light on so tech could not do anything. Office call me and wanted another $699 to send a diagnotic tech out and offered me $200 off. So paid 699 for nothing and they wanted another 499 to send another person out. Finally the tech got on phone with someone and and said the control panel was out and the office would call me the following morining. Surpise...no call on that Thursday as promised. I waited until Friday and called them again. At that point I have lost all faith in this company. If you listen to their hype on the voicemail while on hold, you would think they have it together, after all, they have the "best dressed" technicians. No follow up, no communication after they have your money.

Disgusted, with this company

Customer service is a nightmare! They say I will call you back and they don\u2019t. They tell you it\u2019s notated in their system about warranty issues but they won\u2019t give it to you in writing. Such a disappointment! I don\u2019t enjoy having to do this but when you get no satisfaction in resolving the issue you must. Then they call you to take down your concerned comments about their business practices. They damaged the Generac when they installed it trying to adjust the rods and lifters didn\u2019t do it properly they rod come loose knocked a hole in the valve cover now metal is in the engine . I wanted the engine replaced and all they did is send a guy out to replace the parts and then I asked if I could get a copy of the notations for future reference if something happened to the Generac motor and they said no. They tell me I have to deal with the #Warranty at generac because it\u2019s in the agreement buyer beware.. I bought the generator from you not Generac your installers installed it incorrectly. That means it\u2019s y\u2019all\u2019s fault not Generac. Y\u2019all broke the machine and I\u2019m the customer I did not deal with generact when I bought it, so why should I deal with them now? Still waiting on you double AA TO DO THE RIGHT THING!!!

Very professional

I've had my generator for a year. Installation was great; they take pride in their work. They installed an in ground propane tank. Accidently clipped a sprinkler pipe. Covered the cost of repair, and did a good job on grooming the yard. After a few weeks the yard looked normal. Generator has performed flawlessly. We couldn't be happier
